Outdoor Backyard Renovation – St Heliers

Taking on this outdoor renovation project in St. Heliers was an exciting adventure for our team. It was one of our first big projects, and it really showcases our team's ability to collaborate with specialists to breathe new life into outdoor spaces.

Renovation Overview

We turned a lackluster backyard into a stylish and functional outdoor oasis, perfect for enjoying sunny summer Auckland days!

‍Pool and Deck Prep: We kicked things off by teaming up with pool experts to handle the excavation of the pool and deck area.

‍Steel-Framed Hardwood Deck: Next, we built a sturdy steel frame for the deck, creating a solid base for the beautiful hardwood decking.

Custom Concrete Barbecue Kitchen: One standout feature was the custom concrete barbecue kitchen. We collaborated with the Bespoke Concrete team, who designed and crafted the barbecue kitchen along with other concrete elements.

‍Cabana Character: The timber battens we added to the cabana ceiling are both functional and stylish. They were placed strategically to address movement issues in the open steel structure while also giving the space some personality.

‍Quality Finish: The warmth of hardwood decking from Hermpac, combined with the strength of concrete and tiles laid by ProTiles, creates a cozy outdoor environment.

Project Challenges and Triumphs

Throughout the project, we adapted seamlessly to design changes, integrating elements like a textured splashback and additional timber battens into the evolving plan.

Navigating the tight site was definitely a challenge! We had to plan carefully to keep everything running smoothly while minimising disruption.

Gareth + Kirsten's outdoor renovation project is a fantastic example of our team's passion for transforming spaces. Many summers have been enjoyed in this outdoor area, which has been built strong and sturdy for many more to come!
