Expanding to the Waikato: A Homecoming for the Strawbridge Brothers

Director
We’re excited to announce that Our Projects has officially expanded to the Waikato region, marking a heartfelt return for brothers Ryan and Nathan Strawbridge as they reconnect with their roots and the community they love.
Our Projects is thrilled to announce our expansion into the Waikato region, marking an exciting new chapter for our team. After years of focusing our efforts in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, we are delighted to return to a place that feels like home. Our new office, located in Ngāhinapōuri, is not just a workplace; it’s a heartfelt connection to our roots and the community we cherish.
A Homecoming to The Waikato
For brothers Ryan and Nathan Strawbridge, the Waikato holds a special significance. Growing up, they were immersed in the building industry thanks to their father, who ran a construction company specialising in beautiful character home builds. This journey began in the Manawatū but soon expanded to Hamilton, where the brothers spent countless hours. “The Waikato was our second home,” Nathan shares. “We’ve built many homes across the region, and we’re stoked to be back!”
Our New Office: A Unique Space
Our new office is situated in the relocated old local school building in Ngāhinapōuri, a choice that reflects our commitment to the community. We’re currently fitting it out to create a welcoming space where we can connect with locals. “We’re excited to build our first show home on-site, which will serve as a source of inspiration and a hub for community engagement,” Nathan explains. This unique setting not only ties us to the area’s history but also allows us to foster relationships with the people of the Waikato.
Why Waikato?
The decision to expand into Waikato was inspired by our senior Qualified Builder, Simon Gibson, and his partner, Sophie Clapson, who wanted to establish roots in Sophie’s hometown. Nathan adds, “We fully supported Simon’s move because of our own connection to the area. We see Waikato as a key economic contributor and wanted to be part of its growth.”
Community Connections
At Our Projects, we believe in giving back to the communities we serve. Our commitment to the Waikato community is already underway. We’ve sponsored a tee at the Pirongia Golf Course and are actively seeking partnerships with local schools and community groups. “Connecting with our local community is paramount to us,” Nathan emphasises. “We want to expand our existing relationships with groups like LegaSea and UpsideDowns, among others.”
What Sets Us Apart
Our Projects stands out in the building market by offering industry-leading processes. We specialise in custom builds, both renovations and new builds, at a fixed price. “We’re excited to bring this approach to Waikato and lead the way in providing quality and transparency,” Nathan states.
Looking Ahead
This expansion aligns perfectly with Our Projects’ growth strategy. Since our inception in 2019, we’ve been committed to sustainable and long-lasting growth. “When we build a home for our clients, we’re committing to a 10-year relationship with them,” Nathan explains.
Our immediate focus is on strengthening our roots in Waikato, with future plans for expansion into the Bay of Plenty on the horizon.
As we embark on this new journey, we invite the Waikato community to join us in transforming homes and creating spaces that enhance the way people live and relax. We’re excited about the future and can’t wait to connect with you all — so get in touch and let's catch up over a cuppa!
